Garage Doors in Toronto, OntarioQuiet mornings start here.
If the whole house hears the door go up at six, the noise is telling you something: dry rollers, loose hinges, a chain that needs tension. We track down each sound, correct the cause, and hand back a door you barely notice.
Smart controllers are useful when they are installed properly. We mount the controller and door sensor, connect it to your home network, pair it with the opener, and confirm that the built-in safety sensors still take priority over any command from a phone. Then we walk you through the app and the alerts it can send.
You understand what we found. We point to the worn part, show what it should look like and explain what happens if it stays as it is.
Tools and parts kept tidy. Our kit stays in one spot, cables and springs are bagged as they come out, and nothing gets left behind.
More than one way forward. Repair the part, refresh the whole system, or start over with a new door: we explain each so you can choose confidently.

Garage door spring replacement
Pick the job, we handle it
Business doors have their own needs: heavier hardware, more cycles per day, loading bays that have to stay tight against the weather. Alongside our residential work, we look after sectional and rolling doors for shops, garages and warehouses.

The largest moving part of your home. Worth a closer look.
A garage door belongs to the architecture. Its movement belongs to your everyday life. We bring both into the conversation.

Garage Door Opener Replacement
The call
The bedroom above the garage shakes every morning at six when the chain drive fires up. Everyone in the house knows the moment someone leaves for work.
The door lands with a thud you can feel through the kitchen floor, and sometimes it bounces back up a few centimetres before settling. The bottom section has a small dent where it keeps slamming the concrete.
Cold snaps take a toll on springs already near the end of their life. A coil that was hanging on through the summer often lets go on the first hard frost. These services replace it and its partner properly.
After pulling the red release cord, you tried lifting the door yourself and it would barely leave the floor. A door that used to glide up with one hand now takes real effort, which points to the counterbalance rather than the opener.
There was a sharp crack from the garage, and when you went to look the door had dropped on one side and jammed. A length of cable lies coiled on the floor by the bottom roller.
The door is the one the builder installed and has never had a part changed. It works, but it clatters, the wheels are hard white plastic with no bearings in them, and the opener sounds like it is labouring more each season.
Remotes that need pairing, keypads for the kids, controllers that report to your phone, and the motor that does the actual work. If it plugs in or runs on a battery, it lives in this group.
Upgrading a single door to a double, or splitting a double into two singles, is a framing project as well as a door project. We coordinate the opening changes and install doors that suit the new layout.
Smart controllers are useful when they are installed properly. We mount the controller and door sensor, connect it to your home network, pair it with the opener, and confirm that the built-in safety sensors still take priority over any command from a phone.

About 58% of homes in Toronto were built in 1980 or earlier, according to the 2021 Census.Older garages tend to have lower headroom and narrower single openings, so replacement doors and openers are chosen to fit the space rather than the other way round. Measuring the header, side room and ceiling depth is the first step on every one of these visits.
Single-detached houses make up about 23% of homes in Toronto (2021 Census). In attached housing, a resident's remote or fob may open both their own door and a shared gate, and lost devices are a real security concern. We clear old codes from the operator, program replacements, and explain to management how to keep the access list current.

Why did the door come off its track in the first place?
The usual causes are an impact from a vehicle, a lifting cable that broke or slipped off its drum, ice holding the door to the floor while the opener pulled, an obstruction under the door, worn rollers that no longer hold in the rail, or track brackets that have loosened from the wall. Finding which one applies is the first part of the visit, because the reset is only durable once the cause is corrected.
Can I just push the roller back into the track myself?
The roller is only the visible part of the problem. Behind it are cables and springs holding the door's weight unevenly, and a door can drop or swing when a section is moved without the load taken off first. A trained technician clamps the door, releases the tension in a controlled way and seats the rollers in order. Leaving it to that process protects both you and the sections themselves.
Can an off-track door fall?
A door with one cable slack and the springs still pulling on the other side is being held by parts that are not sharing the load, and it can shift or drop without warning, whether or not anyone touches it, if the second cable lets go or a roller gives way. That is why the visit begins with clamps on the track and support under the sections, and why people, pets and vehicles stay clear of the opening until that support is in place.
What happens if the header wood or centre bracket is damaged?
The centre bracket anchors the spring's reaction force to the framing above the door, so it has to be solid. If the header has split or softened, or the lag bolts have pulled, the technician can refasten into sound wood, add a reinforcing plate or replace the bracket before the new spring is wound. Dealing with this first keeps the shaft level and the spring pulling straight, which protects the bearings and the door.
